On the road again, just can’t wait to get on the road again…that is for sure. Two months with no camper. It has been at the Adventurer factory getting repairs done. Let me state that it did not take that long for the repairs, that took far less time. A big portion of the time was waiting for our insurance to decide to cover damages and pay for the repairs. In reality that only took about a week and a half. However, the camper had to be pulled out of the shop so they could work on other rigs. When it was approved, the camper had to wait in line again. So really, it did not take long at all. Even though it felt like an eternity not having the camper.
There were so many times during that two months that we said “I wished we had the camper, it would have come in real handy to use”. Other things we said was “where is that at? Oh, it is in the camper”. It is amazing how much we use and really, depend on that camper of ours.
Thursday the 17th was the day we could finally get to Yakima Washington and get our camper. We left the Spokane area at 5:30 in the morning. The drive is a 3 1/2 hour drive one way. There was a winter storm on the way and we would be driving into it. Leaving early would get us in and out before the meat of the storm hit, we hoped.
When we got about 30 miles east of Yakima the storms edge was on us. Snow was piling up fast. We got to the Adventurer factory just after 9 a.m. We checked in and drove to where our camper was. “There it is” I said with great excitement. We checked out the new cab over section on the camper. The front wrap was new, seals at the edges were new, cab over floor was new and new marker lights too.
Other repairs and upgrades done were on the inside of the cab over. New floor covering, and a new bracing style where the floor meets the walls. We are very pleased with the repairs. We are even more appreciative at what the Adventurer team did for us. They really show how much they care.
Time to get out of town and head east and try to get out of the winter storm. It ended up taking an extra hour on the drive back because of road conditions. We eventually drove out of the storm and got the camper back home.
Once at home we got our items returned in the camper that we took out. Got the bed made and got it ready for an outing. After work on Friday we would take it out for the weekend. We would just go a short distance away to our membership resort in Cheney. It would be a good place to make sure we got everything set back up the way we like it.
We arrived at the membership resort, all was quite with just a handful of RV’S there. There were those that stay for a few weeks, the few that there are. We pulled into our site, no one around us and we got the camper set up. This weekend it would be just Joanne and I. Cody was at grandpa’s house and our oldest son Jeff was watching our dachshund herd. The night went by peacefully.
On Saturday we would eventually go to downtown Spokane for a brewery event at River City Brewery. First we had some time to wander around so we went to the historic Davenport Hotel and walked around. We then met up with friends and owners of the 238 Brewery where Joanne and I both work when needed at River City Brewery. The event was a special imperial stout event and it was great fun and great beer. After a while we left and made our way back towards Cheney. We wanted to stop in at a newer brewery that we have not been to yet, New Boundary Brewery. We tried a couple beers and had a nice time talking to the owners and a couple other guests. Soon it was time to go back to the camper. Another night of relaxing and not doing much but enjoying the camper.
Sunday came around and it would be time to pack up and head home. It was a successful trip out with the camper once again. We got things put back where we wanted them and everything worked perfectly. It is so great to have the camper again.
A big thank you to everyone at Adventurer, you all did fantastic!
