It was the first year anniversary for the 238 Brewery and a celebration was to be had. Joanne and I both work at the brewery when needed and we would be needed to help for the anniversary event. Even though we do not live far from the brewery we decided we would take our camper and stay the night Friday and Saturday night. It would just make things easier since we all had a lot to get ready for our guest. So this trip was more of a work outing. Just another great thing about having a truck camper and the ease of taking it darn near anywhere.
Friday after work I would drive the camper up to Green Bluff Washington where the brewery is located. Joanne, Cody and the dogs would already be there waiting for me. I got the camper parked and power plugged in. Shortly after Lisa, one of the owners would arrive and we got a few things we would need for Saturday placed in the ale house. We then had dinner that Lisa had made for us. Mike (the other owner and brew master) would arrive not long after that and we all sat around and talked for a little bit before calling it a night and went to bed. Tomorrow would be a busy day.
The next morning after breakfast it was time to get going and get things done. Mike had to go to his full time job and Lisa and Joanne went to the store. Meanwhile I started to get pop up tents and other things set up.
We were suppose to have a snowshoe poker run type of thing going on later the day but warmer temperatures and rain cancelled that portion of it. No problem, we adjusted the plans. We would do a card draw inside the ale house and skip the short hike around the property.
We made chili, hot dogs and sausages for the event. The beer was ready and we were ready for our guests. At noon, they arrived. From that point on it was busy until we closed at 6 P.M. Prizes were handed out either from raffle tickets or correct answers from trivia questions about the brewery. The poker run had winners for the highest hand and lowest hand. Lots of laughs and great times were had in celebrating the breweries anniversary. Pet food and supplies were donated by some for the Spokane Humanes Society and in return those that gave the donation got a discount on a pint of beer.
It was a very successful event. We had a lot of people inside the small ale house and a few outside under the pop up canopies hanging out at the campfire. It was great to see everyone who could make it supporting the 238 Brewery.
After everyone left and we cleaned up, it was time to relax. We were tired as it was a busy day for sure. We had our dinner and a beer…of course. We then relaxed in the hot tub for a while. Eventually it was time to go to bed. A great day for sure. I was tired and fell asleep quickly.
Sunday Morning we would pack up our things and go home. This trip was not a camping trip but still an outing in our camper. The camper is a multiple use camper. The ease of parking near anywhere is one of the things we love about it.
