Just getting out 1/26 – 1/28 2024

We took the camper out on the weekend just because really. No real plans for anything but to just “be”. The winter was back to mild weather but it would be pretty rainy over the weekend. No big deal, that is why we have our pop ups. Sure we could just hang out inside the cozy camper but we like to be outside.

We took the 1 1/2hour drive south of Spokane Washinton to Potlatch Idaho. We would be staying at the Scenic 6 RV Park there. This would be the second time we have stayed there and both times have been in the off season. It is a very nice park and offers full hookups. Even the water was still on.

Our spot for the weekend.
Moon rise.
Cozy under the pop ups.

We had a nice quite cozy evening under the pop up before heading inside to go to bed. During the night the rains came back and they would hang around pretty much for the rest of the weekend. In the morning we could see all the huge puddles from the snow melt, rain and frozen ground not letting the water seep under. We also added our second pop up to the mix and moved our outdoor cooking stuff under it. With the walls on the pop ups it made it a large warm 10×20 foot outdoor room.

We decided to walk into town to the nearby coffee house, Red Fir. They have great coffee and light food affair to enjoy. After that we did a loop walk back to camp and found a geocache along the way.

Having our morning coffee and a bit to eat.
Joanne signing the logbook in the cache.
The Palouse River with a bit of an ice dam on it.
Neat little building.

Old shed we walked by.
Some TLC and this would be a cool camper to have.

Soon we were back at camp. We would listen to music and just hang out for a while. Again, no real plans for this trip and that was perfectly fine with us.

The outdoor room we set up.
Plenty of space while the rains came down.

There was a bit of a break in the rain and we went for a walk around the park. There is a nice pathway to enjoy and some historical things to see.

Our setup with the pop ups.
Lots of standing water about.
There are a lot of sitting areas in the park as well.
The playground near our site.
We do enjoy this park and RV spot.
Some fun musical toys to play with.
A bit of a moat right now.
The old locomotive on display.
A great display.
More old equipment.

The rains came back and soon we were under the pop ups where we spent the rest of the day and night.

The park is having some expansions. That musical toy area was new and there are more RV sites being built close by to the original RV sites. This place is really a wonderful spot. At some point we need to come back during the summer to enjoy it more. But for now, this was a needed do nothing weekend for us. And it fulfilled what we wanted to do.
